You should also try http://www.flashcardexchange.com/. Very user friendly. You can use other's card sets or create you own, play memory games on the computer or print them out. Very useful tool. There is a free area and a paid area. ($20)

While browsing the flashcardexchange, I wondered what DLPI stands for and found out this page while googling around: http://www.dprkstudies.org/2008/07/25/k ... resources/

Also, I want to share a study tip I'm actually practicing. Flashcards! LOL Yes every body talks about flash cards but it's not just the cards. It's also about the systematic approach (also called Leitner System) which basically says: if you know a word, you put it a level up, if you don't know it, you take it down to the first level. Words in level one will be quizzed every other day, while words in the highest level every few months. Also, if a word is not quizzed within a given time, it automatically drops by one level. This really forces you to learn the words you don't know and doesn't bother you all the time with words you really do know.

Doing this with paper flash cards might be very complicated because you'll have to keep track on what date you last quizzed one given word, what level it is and when the next time it is due.

That's why, in my opinion, you need a software to help you. I didn't try this website but at a first glance, it probably goes in the right direction: http://www.yoyobrain.com

However, the software I'm using is an offline-software. It is called "Parley" and is absolutely free. It natively runs on Linux (KDE) but also runs on other Linuxes, I'm quite confident it will run on MacOS X and I know somebody got it to run on Windows as well: http://www.screenshots-archive.com/kde-windows-parley. For more information on Parley, here's the homepage: http://edu.kde.org/parley/

A free flash card and pronunciation program with simple phrases:

I think the paid version has more, but I haven't bought it.

Does anyone use the Flash My Brainappl? It's supposed to be iPod classic-compatible. Not only that, there's even the iPhone/itouch appl and some smartphones may be able to use it as well.

I'm thinking of getting it as creating new flashcards seems a bit quicker than creating them from scratch in, say, photoshop, save them as jpgs and then load them up on the iPod. But before that, I'd love to hear feedbacks from you guys.

ETA: just in case someone was going to buy this thing. It hasn't been updated in a long time no matter how many people complain about how the program lacks some basic options and/or ask for support. Also? The demo the seller show you is basically an online version of the program itself. Personally, I've been told it was going to lack some functions so I assumed some things (ie formatting options, etc) were missing from the demo because it was a demo (DUH!), not because the program was basically lacking in usability. Not saying it is a bad software, it's just wasn't what I thought it was. It had great potential, but it all fell through.

Better go with a free alternative, imho.
