Going to Seoul this weekend...any advice?

Postby tonygr » June 29th, 2009 9:26 am

I'm going to Seoul for the first time this weekend. I'm arriving on Sunday.

It is my very first overseas trip so I'm very excited but since I'm going in blindly is there any advice anyone can pass on to me?

I have a few friends in Seoul that I am confident know their city, but I would like input from others who are either from Seoul or have visited/toured Seoul.

Thanks a bunch.

Don't mistakenly sit in the old people seats on the subway. The old people will kill you. Just kidding, but you'll get some pretty mean looks.

:D I recommend you some of famous places.
동대문-It's kind of huge shopping town.
인사동-There are lots of traditional arts.
삼청동-This place is something different. Have a pie with ice creams.
홍대- It's around 홍대. There are many clubs and restaurnats.
한강 근처- I forgot the station, BTW nice view.
서울N타워- You can have a look whole Seoul at your sight.

Enjoy your travel in Seoul.

If you have a time, go to 동해(East sea).
:D You can take a train from 서울역 or 영등포역,
4hrs far from seoul. I guessssssss....nor sure. ^^sorry

Lol... Tony posted this in 2009 so unless he has some kind of time travel machine it's probably not going to be very helpful...

Sorry!! I just saw the date of AndyS1987[nim]'s.

BUT I believe that it will be helpful for someone who has a plan to visit Korea in the future.
This is not only for tonygr[nim].

What do you think?

If you agree with it, could you add another info for this question?

Thank you

This is very specific but about half way between 신촌 rotary and 연대on the 윈쪽 노래바은 아래 when facing 연세 with your back facing the 지하철 역 is the best 닥갈비 place ever! Also a block down to the 윈쪽 are some Korean BBQ buffets for about 4000 W!!!

Sorry but this is the number one spot I would take people coming to Seoul lol, hope this helps.
