OCR (Optical Character Recognition) for Hangul

Postby ddong_gae » May 9th, 2008 7:57 am

I have found two very expensive pieces of software, $400-$500, that can scan text and then move it to MSWord or Hangul200* so it can be edited. They are from software developers from non-Korean speaking countries.

Does anyone know of a piece of software, reasonably prices of course, developed in Korea that does OCR for the Korean language?

Or do Koreans just have to retype everything?

I am guessing there must be something other than the ones I've found.

Supposedly, there's this amazing Korean OCR program developed in North Korean called '목란'. As for options that are realistically accessible to you, does the manufacturer of your scanner have any info?
