Vote for Korean at Lingq

Postby arsenius » April 11th, 2010 8:42 am

Not sure how many people here use lingq.com in combination with this site, but if you haven't been, you should check it out. Unfortunately, Korean isn't an official language there yet there, but you can still use the site to study Korean.

What I do is copy the text of the PDFs here, and paste it into a new Portugese lesson on lingq (I have no plans to learn Portugese).

Right now you can vote for which language lingq should add next, and Korean is one possibility. Currently the voting is pretty much tied between Cantonese and Korean, and of course I would like to see Korean win! So, even if you aren't using the site, help me out and click on Korean here.

Im glad to see Korean Winning so far. But June 1st is over a month away. I can see an army of Cantonese speakers voting at the last minute to win... Hopefully korean wins.

New Lingq vote

Postby steven1209 » May 6th, 2010 12:04 am

Due to ballot stuffing it appears that lingq is now put up a new vote counter. Korean was way ahead but thousands of votes mysteriously came in for cantonese prompting lingq to put up a revised vote counter. If you're like me and would like to see korean offically added to lingq please go to lingq and revote. Also they are taking into considerations people who request languages in the comment section of that vote so please comment there also you wish to see korean.

A polite bump simply to put it back in front if any of you wish to see lingq have korean this is the final week of voting. Thanks!

Voted... although it looks like cantonese may win out. I have never used linq, but from what I have read it seems like a good system.

Not sure what numbers you're looking at but as of this evening on Sat the 29th Korean as a 400 plus vote lead over nearest runner up Dutch and Cantonese is a distant third.

Yeah once Korean wins(I hope) we'll see if it's actually any good. Go Korean!

Yay!
The results are in - Korean
The results are in and the polls are closed! Thank you to all of you who voted in our poll. The clear winner with 53% of the votes is Korean. We will be adding Korean to LingQ within the next few weeks. I can't be more specific than that since we are unsure what specific issues may arise with Korean.

We will be relying on all you Korean backers out there, whether Korean learners or Korean native speakers, to help us by providing lessons once the new language has been added.
