Postby whistleblower » December 4th, 2007 4:16 am

Please find below the next lesson. It is related to the current cold weather Korea is facing although it's about the cold spring season. I hope it is useful.

[Hankugun kkochi pil muryobe kkotsaemchuwiga isoyo.]
There is a cold spell in Korea just before the blossoms in the spring.

[Guchokke dukkoun gyourosul setaksoe modu matgyonnunde onul achime nuni waso kkamjjak nollasoyo.]
A: I was shocked to see snow this morning because I took all my winter clothes to the dry cleaners yesterday.

[Hankugesonun samwolkkaji gyouroshi piryohaeyo.]
B: You need your winter clothes till the end of March in Korea.

[Bominde wae iroke kapjaki nuni naerigo chupjiyo?]
A: Isn’t it spring now?? Why is it snowing and so cold?

[Hankugun kkochi pil muryobe kkotsaemchuwiga isoyo. Hangyoulchorom achu chuwoyo.]
B: There is a cold spell in Korea just before the blossoms in the spring. It’s as cold as winter.

A: 아, 몰랐어요.
[A, mollasoyo. Miran ssi, gyoul kotu chom billyo chuseyo.]
A: I didn’t know.? Miran, could you lend me a winter coat?

From the end of February to mid March Korea undergoes a brief cold period due to the arrival of Siberia’s high atmospheric pressure fronts.? Koreans call this period "꽃샘추위[kkotsaemchuwi]" meaning that winter is envious of the flower budding season of the spring.? In other words, people think that winter is upset because people are too eager to welcome spring but have no pity for the phasing out of winter.? Perhaps we should take a brief moment to remember the winter season and the cherished memories of 2006.????? [/spoiler]
