Busy Atom (pronounciation help)

Postby matthew254 » April 16th, 2009 2:48 am

I stumbled upon a Korean pronunciation practice video that is not bad at all. It covers the difference between /ㄱ/ and /ㄲ/. "...쌍기역. The examples include 깍두기, 까치, 수도꼭지, 꽃..."

also here's the user's youtube page and website.

Yeah it's cool b/c if you post a response/send him a message, he'll correct it for you and give a nice explanation as well. ^^

A while back I tested the 부산 사투리 on a friend for kicks...

that's cool about the feedback but as for Pusan dialect...
I have a funny story about that... I was in Busan for only three days or so to visit a German friend who studies there for a year, she doesn't speak Korean AT all. And I dunno how she should identify her textbook Korean with what people actually speak (or should I say sing?) in Busan

So she studies at 동서대학교 and we needed to take a cab back at night. She told the taxi driver the destination and he went like "huh??", she said it again, tried to vary the pronounciation of some vowels, he didn't understand, she asked me for help but since I was not a student there, I didn't memorize the name of the university well, I tried 동서, though, as it sounded better to me than 동소. After a while he understood and said
"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaah, 동스!! 동스대학교! 동스!!"

well, when we arrived at the university, it clearly read 동서대학교
I wonder how the taxi driver follows the news on KBS if he doesn't understand standard Korean?? :)

Dear friends at KC101,

Please be aware that there is a new form of SPAM coming from the
Internet, that uses website forums. Spammers make use of the email
notification feature and post replies filled with SPAM links that are
then emailed to the other users of the forums.

Until a method is in place to screen out such SPAM the best way to prevent unwanted email is to disable the email notification feature in your site preferences.

Ah! I was wondering what that junk was. I clicked on one of them. :(

Better run some AV and spy-sweepers.

Thanks for the heads up!
