Websites (or books!) with children's stories?

Postby Taliana » September 10th, 2008 8:47 pm

I'm looking for some children's stories, either in print or online, that are in Korean. I think that this would be a good way for me to be able to practice my reading and speaking, as well as getting my head around basic grammar.

I saw an earlier thread similiar to this but it was more about news aimed at children ( http://kids.hankooki.com/ ) which is great but ... I am such a little kid at heart, I want to read something cute and fun! XD

Does anyone have any ideas?

The recent Video Tale of Pinnochio was super, it was that which made me start thinking again about finding something at a children's level to start reading.

I had the same thought as you Taliana! Honestly, if I can read an entire children's book and understand it all I would be so proud of myself!

Wow, they even teach english and chinese on that website!

Yahoo Korea has a really cute kids' website. It has stories, games and songs. It may be too juvenile or simple though. But it's really cute! :)

Just found this today, think you'll like it, and it's an amazing resource for anyone trying to work on reading comprehension:

http://parksguide.blogspot.com/2008/09/ ... tales.html

This is a list of links to online picture books of various fairy tales (Western and Korean) with a Korean narrator. Its a lot like the Pinocchio lesson, but I like that I can flip the pages at my own pace.

The rest of the site is top-notch too. I love his grammar explanations (simplifies some tough concepts) and the translation challenges for songs are a fun way to practice Korean too.

Awesome. And perhaps, most awesome of all, was this one: http://kr.infant.kids.yahoo.com/infantz ... dpg=5&pg=1

Seems about my level. I even got a gold star! :)
