Past tense for 이다

Postby shanshanchua » June 27th, 2008 2:48 pm

I've got a real basic question: how is the past tense for 이다 conjugated?

Simple present tense would be 입니다, 이에요, 예요, 이야 or 야 right?

What about the past tense?

Thanks!

shanshanchua, :)

The past tense for 이다 is

이었다 :)

--> 이었습니다. 이었어요. 이었어.

And more often than not,
it's abbreviated to 였습니다, 였어요, 였어요. :)
