hwuh chung she eodie issjyo

Postby whpsys_233043 » October 8th, 2017 1:19 pm

I am trying to understand what this means, 'hwuh chung she eodie issjyoie?' (ie: 'Where is the <something>?')

So, what is a 'hwuh chung she'? (that's the sound the Korean speaker is making if I try to spell it in English).

Thanks,

Mark

Hi Mark,

Thanks for posting. I think you are referring to restroom, or 화장실, and the question is asking where the restroom is.
Unlike written Korean, in spoken Korean, many native Koreans will omit the particles attached to the subject/object, which is why you heard '화장실 어디에 있어요?', rather than '화장실은 어디에 있어요?'

Hope this was the answer you were looking for.

Sincerely,
Lyn
