feel free

Postby iDoof » November 13th, 2010 2:37 am

Hi all,

Say I'm inviting some friends over to my house, and I want to tell them, "feel free to bring anyone else" or "if anyone you know wants to come they are welcome"

What's a simple, not-overly-formal phrase for expressing this?

Thank you much!!

These may not be the perfect cultural choice but here is what comes to mind:

친구를 데려와도 괜찮아요 - It's ok to bring a friend along.
It's fine to bring a friend/ You are encouraged to bring a friend.

It's ok to come with a friend.
It's fine to come with a friend/ You are encouraged to come with a friend.

- All are welcome/ Everyone will be welcomed. (I'm sure there is a better way to say this.)

Sounds like it could be a clamorous affair -- I hope the purveyor be such a party would be considerate of his neighbors -- I do hope they would not be such as those who start the party at 11:00PM and do not finish until 3:30AM, and play the music so ^$*&(%%#*! loud that the bass beat rattles the neighbor's window glass.

Nevertheless it is my sincere wish that everyone at said affair would "have fun." And remember: Friends don't let friends drive drunk!

Good answer, George.
Let me give you another version. ;)

"feel free to bring anyone else"
> 누구 데려와도 괜찮아요.

"if anyone you know wants to come they are welcome"
> 오고 싶은 사람 있으면 다 오라고 해요. (다 환영해요.)
