-나요 endings?

Postby blackzbrownz5517 » August 27th, 2010 2:26 pm

I came across some sentences with the ending -나(요), But i don't know what it means D:
Like on,
잊을수있었나요
or 편했나요?

Can anyone tell me what it means?
감사합니다 :D

Oh and while you're at it can you explain the usage of 겠어요? I've heard it's a future tense thing?

...hmm... no answer yet eh?

~~ 나요? This pattern is used to ask a question or to express doubt, it is sometimes interchangeable with the pattern ~~은/는 가요? with only slight subtle difference in nuance.

The 겠 thing was handled extensively in another thread -- I will see if I can find that link for you. In short, 겠 often expresses future tense but sometimes is used only to add a polite tone to the statement or question.
