漢字 Hanja in the wild!

Just because it's fun talking about Hanja...

I saw this brilliant little sign last week on the subway:

So, the 人 is the hanja for "인" or "person"

Of course, 人ternet is read "internet!"

That's really confusing. My brain went through rénternet, hitoternet, , and saramternet before I finally noticed the text of the post.

That's probably because you have so many hanja/kanji etc running through your head. just have a few, so it's harder to get confused!

:D :D It's because that 漢字 is in three different languages, and is read so many different ways! Like if you saw "formidable" or "journey" on a sign in France. Look the same but are read differently.
