Yes, you are 100% right George.
But George,
those blogs are not about songs... those are designed to give listeners about general expression / ideas of Korean people.
In the past, 시 (poem) was one of common ways to expressing one's ideas or feelings. However, these days, 노래 "songs" / 드라마 "drama" / 영화 "movies" well present our culture / ways of thinking / and many more...
George, think 노래가사 "those lyrics" as 시 "poem".
When you study of 시, you would also understand some of people and culture.
Many 시 (poems) talk about 사람, 사랑, 희망, 감정, 자연, 동물, 인생, 인간관계, efc...
I hope you to know that those lyrics I chose are all about those above...
So... are those lessons about 노래 themselves?
or... instead, are those lessons about the culture of Korea and Korean people?
It's your call, George. You decide their meaning and purpose...

George, some of 노래가사 are more meaningful and beautiful than some of 시.
