Texas Hold'em Phrases

Postby roboytoe563484 » February 14th, 2012 4:21 pm

Hello everyone!

I have found myself playing poker in Korea at least once a week, and there are quite a few Korean regulars who join the table (who are mostly South African).

I see this as another opportunity to pick up some Korean phrases, so I wanted to know if anyone knows any good lines in Korean around the poker table?

Some specific words I would like to learn:

-I'm out of this hand

-I am raising

-I am checking

-Will you raise?

-Will you check?

-What's your hand?

-How many chips do you have left?

-Are you still in the hand?

-Good luck

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

This is Jaehwi from Koreanclass101.com

In Korean, 'hand' (in the game) can be translated as '패(pae)' which means 'good card.'

You can make phrases by using this word; 좋은 패가 있어? (Do you have any good one), 패가 있어? (Are you still in the hand?) 패가 없어.(I'm out of this hand.)

To say Good Luck, you can say 행운을 빌게.
