I'm planning to upload pictures of food I had ^^ although not necessarily on that day.

Here's the first one.

This one is called 깍두기 (kkakdugi) - it's a type of kimchi, but made with radish instead of lettuce :) It's usually just served as a side dish when you order something in a 식당(restaurant), but I LOVE it!

Looks absolutely delicious! :)

Just read in my local papers the other day that certain foods are linked to a higher risk of cancer if consumed in large quantities, such as salted fish and ...KIMCHI!! That was new to me... I thought Koreans view Kimchi as a health food that wards off all ills (including SARS)...

Apparently, kimchi (along with miso and yogurt+++) contains bacteria that is beneficial to your digestive system. Everything seems to be linked to a higher risk of cancer these days, so I guess the safest way to avoid cancer is to stop eating altogether.

I love 깍두기 for its crunchy texture too :D And for a perfect 깍두기, you need to go to a 삼계탕 restaurant :D

나는 가장 좋아하는 김치는 깍두기예요~~

i usually buy it from the store and have it at home, but whenever i got to a restaurant with my friends, we eat a lot of it too.
