Translation needed

Postby seoul6 » February 25th, 2016 8:25 am

I have heard for 45 years, women in particular, using the phase (I'll try to spell it phonetically) "Jee dah han ney". I know it's not a compliment, my assumption is it means equivalent to like = you gotta be kidding or get out of here, but I would appreciate the hungul spelling & the real translation. It's probably the saying I've heard most from female Koreans to another party. Thanks... (I think)...

Hi,

What you heard is a 'swear/cuss' word, '지랄하네'. '지랄' means to throw a fit, flip out, bullshit.
If you used this phrase on someone, they will not be very happy, so it may be better to refrain from using this phrase.

Best,
Lyn
