I want to carve what one what say to scare someone in Korean into my pumpkin for Halloween.

I'd love to hear someone give a translation on that one too.

I suppose "으악" could be the Korean counterpart but it seems that I heard that mostly from the person who was surprised rather than an expression used to surprise someone. I think I've only ever heard Korean's say "부!" or "야!" when startling someone.

Anyway, I think it'd be scarier if you carved "귀신" into your pumpkin instead. I'd carve a scary face and the word "귀신" into pumpkin's "forehead", then spray paint it white and put a long black-hair wig on top.. if I were into that sort of thing.. but I'm not.
