I began to learn the newbie lessons and now, I have a question about this:거예요

How can you expain it? Especially its grammer point! Who can help me... thx a lot!

Hello,

I’ll try to explain it to you to the best of my knowledge.

ㄹ/을 거예요 means you are planning/will do something. Take the verb stem and add that structure to it to express something will happen in the future. 기다리다 = to wait, 기다리 + ㄹ 거예요 = 기다릴 거예요 or I will wait.

Some examples:

저는 한국말을 배울 거예요.
I will learn Korean.

제 친구는 닭갈비를 먹을 거예요.
My friend will eat chicken.

너무 피곤한데, 그래서 난 4시쯤에 집에 갈 거야
I’m too tired, so I will go home around 4.

돌아올거야~~!
I'll be back!

To me it's stonger than ㄹ/을 것 같다 but can still mean probably will.

literally 거예요 means like "thing that is" or "it is"

Thanks to our previous poster you have been introduced to the future tense ㄹ/을 거에요 -- '''it (a thing) will be'''

some examples

~있을 거에요 -- it will be
~할 거에요 -- will do something

~있는 거에요 -- it is in a present state of being
~하는 거에요 -- something is being done

~있던 거에요 -- (it) has been (and continues to be)
~하던 거에요 -- (something) was done before
~했던 거에요 -- (something) has been accomplished

other forms you may encounter

~~ 겁니다
