I've got a question

Postby yingmujielun » August 25th, 2009 12:19 pm

not sure if this is the thread i shld ask this but here goes.
i'm a total newbie here. so i'm starting on newbie lessons and also learning to read and write hangul.
However, something puzzles me.
for eg, the line "Jeo-neum sojin-imnida"
The imnida is writen in the PDF to look like 입 but i'm sure it 임!
correct me if im wrong.
If i'm right tell me why abt or ㅁ looks like ㅂ in alot of words i come across.
Because i want to know which way should i write it now on paper.
Thanks.

Try saying 입니다 (ip-ni-da) fast.. Impossible, right? So people say 임니다 (im-ni-da).
It occurs when ㄴ(ni-eun) follows ㅂ(bi-eup). Then ㅂ becomes ㅁ(mi-eum).

Also, there are a lot of pronunciation changes like this.
있는 changes to 인는.
