nell - separation anxiety

nell is an incredible korean band that would probably fall into the indie-rock category, and they just came out with a new album last month. it's called separation anxiety, and i would highly highly highly recommend it to anyone. i haven't been legitimately impressed with any korean band even half as much as these guys, and this album is no different.

Yeah, that is a great CD.

Nell is probably my favorite. I am so NOT into the standard KPOP. Wondergirls, superjunior, and the like are fun in a 노래방, but I really can't stand them for more than one or two listens.

I'm with Austin, that KPOP stuff gets old pretty fast. Nell is definitely a breath of fresh air. My daughter, on the other hand, loves the mainstream KPOP music. And that is OK .

now, i do have to say that i absolutely love super junior - but not because of their music. the first show i ever watched in korean was super junior full house, and i've been hooked on them ever since. they're just so dang entertaining and hilarious, not to mention they are on every tv show ever (since there are 13 members, they can do that) so i generally watch tv shows that have super junior members in it. (and just for the record, i do realize that i am much older than 90% of their fans, but it's still fun!)

but, i actually like nell for their music. and i'd listen to them if it was in english (which, sadly, is not the case for super junior).

yes, i've picked up the fangirls' habit of combining names. ㅋㅋㅋㅋ (dongbangjunior, epiknell, wonderbang, etc).

which brings up another topic entirely - all of the pairings the girls make up (kangteuk and jaeho being the two i've heard of the most). i don't quite get it. i mean, if i were crazy about a particular group of boys, i don't think i'd want them to date eachother. but, some fans are crazy about pairing the boys together.

i personally find it hilarious. ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

I confess I'm one of those fans who love to pair members together! In truth, I would not mind if they really were gay because I could not stand if I saw any of the guys get girlfriends! I would be much too jealous
