Dialogue

Lesson Transcript

Do you know how to talk about different options in Korean?
Welcome to Three Step Korean Practice by KoreanClass101.com. In this lesson, you will practice how to talk about different options.
Let’s look at the main dialogue.
Two people are having a conversation.
도준아, 어떤 학과에 지원할지 생각해 봤어? (Dojuna, eotteon hakgwae jiweonhalji saenggakhae bwasseo?)
Dojun, have you thought about which major you want to apply for?
한국어 교육과에 지원할지 경영학과에 지원할지 고민하고 있어요. (Hangukeo gyoyukgwae jiweonhalji gyeongyeonghakgwae jiweonhalji gominhago isseoyo.)
I’m debating whether to apply for the Korean education department or the business administration department.
In this second sentence, 지원할지 (jiweonhalji) is conjugated with the ending -ㄹ지 (-lji), as the verb ends in a vowel. For verbs that end in consonants, -을지 (-eulji) is used instead.
Let’s practice with this grammar more in this lesson.
