Do you know how to write ㅣ(i) in Korean?
ㅣ(i)
The stroke is straight up and down. Write it from the top to the bottom.
Just one stroke, and it looks and sounds like an English capital I.
Now you know already how to say teeth or two in Korean!
So do we write this word like this?
I
Nope, 이 has no consonant here, so we put the circular placeholder 이응 (i-eung) instead.
Whenever a vowel is by itself, write 이응 to the left of the vowel.
So this is how you write 이.
