여러분, 안녕하세요? 에이미에요. Hi, everybody! I’m Amy.
Welcome back to KoreanClass101.com’s 삼분 한국어, the fastest, easiest, and most fun way to learn Korean.
In the last lesson, we covered how to ask whether a bus is going to the right destination. Today, we'll make sure you get off at the right stop!
Are you ready? Let's start!
These days, most buses in Korea have a board in the front to tell you the next stop and after as well. Also there will be announcement.
But when it gets crowded or noisy, you might not be able to see or listen well. So it's good to be able to ask someone what the next stop is.
"What is the next stop?"
다음 정류장은 어디에요?
다음 정류장 is next stop
은 is the subject particle
어디에요? is where
“Where is the next stop?”
다음 정류장은 어디에요?
You could also simply ask if the next stop is yours. Instead of 어디, put your destination instead!
For example, COEX.
다음 정류장은 COEX에요?
“Is the next stop COEX?”
Okay, now it’s your turn. How would you say, is the next stop 동대문? Try to say it!
다음 정류장은 동대문이에요?
“Is the next stop Dongdaemun?”
Remember it’s nice to say “Excuse me” before these sentences.
실례하지만, 다음 정류장은 COEX에요?
실례하지만, 다음 정류장은 동대문이에요?
Now it’s time for Amy’s insight.
There are a number of great smartphone apps to list schedules and plot routes for every bus in Korea’s urban areas. If you don’t have one, you can still usually find your bus’s route listed along the sides of the bus, near the ceiling or even at subway station! They even have a little pocket map for you.
사진 좀 찍어 주세요? Do you know what I just asked you? We’re going to learn that phrase in the next lesson.
So join us for more 삼분 한국어!
다음에 또 만나요!
