여러분, 안녕하세요? 에이미에요. Hi, everybody! I’m Amy.
Welcome back to KoreanClass101.com’s 삼분 한국어, the fastest, easiest, and most fun way to learn Korean.
In the last lesson, we covered how to say 티머니 카드 주세요 which means, give me a T-Money card!
In this lesson, we'll learn how to find out where your bus is going.
Are you ready? Let’s get started!
COEX is the Asia’s largest underground shopping complex in Seoul. If you would like to shop at COEX but are not sure if this bus is right. Just say,
실례하지만, 이 버스 COEX 에 가요?"
"Excuse me, does this bus go to COEX?"
실례하지만 means ‘excuse me but...’
이 버스 meaning ‘this bus’ 에 가요? means ‘is this going~’
실례하지만, 이 버스 COEX에 가요?"
Say you want to go to Myeongdong(명동) instead!
Switch COEX to Myungdong!
실례하지만 이 버스 명동에 가요?
Excuse me but does this bus go to Myeongdong?
Another pattern you could also use is
“Does this bus stop at COEX?”
이 버스는 COEX에 서요?
[slowly] 이버스는 COEX에 서요?
Or 이 버스는 명동에 서요?
If you only know the number of the bus, use the counting-unit 번 meaning "number,"
For an example, number 405.
Don’t forget to use Chinese version of counting
which is 사백오.
So,
“where does bus number 405 go to?”
405(사백오)번 버스는 어디로 가요?
어디로 means "toward where"
405(사백오)번 버스는 어디로 가요?
7 Now, you are on the bus and would like to ask if it’s close or not! Then, for an example,
‘Is COEX close?’
코엑스 가까워요?
가까워요 means ‘is it close?’
코엑스 가까워요?
Again, just replace 코엑스(COEX) with whatever destination!
If you find out you got on the wrong bus, please remember to press the red button on the wall or handles. The doors will open at the next stop so you can hop off!
Now it’s time for Amy's insight.
It may be a good idea to confirm where your bus goes before you get on. If you have phone service in Seoul, you can dial 120 to ask which bus will take you to your destination. Seoul 120 has English service, what a great!
This is it for today! Next time, we’ll make sure you get off at the right stop! What phrases will we learn? Find out in the next 삼분 한국어 lesson!
다음에 또 봐요!
