Gina:In Korean traditional wrestling games, two contestants compete and display their physical strength and technique. The matches can be seen on TV, especially on Korean traditional holidays such as Seollal - New Year’s Day, and Korean Thanksgiving Day.

Hi Ian,


Yes, we remember Park JiSung playing for Man-U (맨유, as the Koreans call it). I believe there is another Korean soccer player, Sohn Heung-soo, playing for another British soccer team, although I cannot remember which team it is.

As for the anime, are you referring to 'Slam Dunk'? Or something else?

Ironically in the UK we call supporters of Manchester United fans, 'Red Devils' and the Korean Park Ji Sung famously used to play for this very football team. Hopefully they'll play Baseball in the 2020 Summer Olympics in Japan. There's actually an anime series about Basketball which some young people in my country like, so it may also be known amongst the Korean youth . ?
