Welcome to Can Do Korean by KoreanClass101.com.
안녕하세요 여러분! 김소피입니다.
"Hi everyone. I'm Sophie Kim."
In this lesson, you'll learn how to tell someone where you're from in Korean.
This is Mark Morris. He's on a plane to Korea.
Min-gyu Mun, a passenger sitting next to him, asks,
"Mark, where are you from?"
마크씨는 어디에서 왔어요? (Ma-keu-ssi-neun eo-di-e-seo wass-eo-yo?)
Listen to the conversation, and focus on Mark's response.
Note: the speakers in this conversation use polite Korean.
Ready?
마크씨는 어디에서 왔어요? (Ma-keu-ssi-neun eo-di-e-seo wass-eo-yo?)
뉴욕에서 왔어요. (Nyu-yog-e-seo wass-eo-yo.)
Once more with the English translation.
