| Hyunwoo: I see. Whatโs your favorite mountain in Korea? |

| Hyunwoo: I see Hallasan is in ์ ์ฃผ๋ on Jeju Island. I love that mountain too. |

| Hyunwoo: ๋ค. And I think Korea is a great country to live in for mountain lovers. |
| Miseon: ๋ค. I think so too. The mountain in Korea are not as high as some really big famous mountains in other countries but they are still very nice and beautiful right? |
| Hyunwoo: Yeah and you know, Korea is a very mountainous country because over 60% of all the land in Korea is mountainous. So every major city in Korea, you can say that they are somewhat surrounded by big and small mountains and Seoul is not an exception. |
| Miseon: Right. You know actually I was told like over 70% is like mountain โ |
| Hyunwoo: Yeah. |
| Miseon: Surrounded by mountains. |
| Hyunwoo: 70% |
| Miseon: And even in Seoul area, there are lot of mountains that you can go to right? |
| Hyunwoo: Yeah like ๋ถํ์ฐ, ๊ด์ ์ฐ |
| Miseon: Or ์ค์ ์ฐ, ๋๋ด์ฐ |
| Hyunwoo: And et cetera right? |
| Miseon: Oh okay. |
| Hyunwoo: A lot of mountains. So if you like hiking in the mountains, thatโs one more reason to come to Korea. |
| Miseon: ๋ค. Come to Korea. And you can be working downtown and that you can be hiking in the mountain within an hour if you want. |
| Hyunwoo: Thatโs so true and thatโs very, very nice. Okay. |

| Hyunwoo: Weekdays. |

| Hyunwoo: So itโs from ์์์ผ to ๊ธ์์ผ and those days are called ํ์ผ in Korean. |
| Miseon: ๋ค. ํ means usual like ํ๋ฒํ๋ค. |
| Hyunwoo: To be usual, to be ordinary. |
| Miseon: And ์ผ means day. |
| Hyunwoo: Right so together ํ์ผ usual or ordinary day of the week that is. So compared to the special Saturday and Sunday, weekdays are common, usual, ordinary days. |
| Miseon: Why we have to think that way? |
| Hyunwoo: I donโt know. |
| Miseon: Every day is ordinary. |
| Hyunwoo: Every day is ordinary and every day is special too. |
| Miseon: Right, right, right. |
| Hyunwoo: But the way Korean language goes they are called ํ์ผ. |
| Miseon: ๋ค, ํ์ผ์ด์์. |
| Hyunwoo: Okay but now, letโs go to the grammar point of this lesson. |
| Miseon: Uh-huh. |

| Miseon: The focus of this lesson is -๋ค the suffix we use to show or ask for agreement. |
| Hyunwoo: As in the example. |
| Miseon: ์ค๋ ๋ ์จ ์ข๋ค์. |
| Hyunwoo: The weather is good today. |
| Miseon: ๋ค. So basically when you say a sentence, the sentence itself does not have any implication or nuance that you want some agreement or reaction from the person you are talking to, right? |
| Hyunwoo: Yeah but by using the suffix -๋ค in the sentence, you can add some nuance to the sentence that you want some sort of reaction from the other person. So for example, how do you say the weather is good today plainly? How do you say that? |
| Miseon: ์ค๋ ๋ ์จ ์ข์์. |
| Hyunwoo: Yeah to just deliver the fact that the weather is good today, you say this ์ค๋ ๋ ์จ ์ข์์. but if you want to mean, the weather is good today hah! Or I think the weather is good today, what do you think? Or I think the weather is good and I wonder whether you agree or not, what do you say? |
| Miseon: Using the ne suffix, you can say ์ค๋ ๋ ์จ ์ข๋ค์. |
| Hyunwoo: Again letโs compare the two. What was the more plain way to say it? |
| Miseon: ์ค๋ ๋ ์จ ์ข์์. |
| Hyunwoo: And to show that you want some reaction |
| Miseon: ์ค๋ ๋ ์จ ์ข๋ค์. |
| Hyunwoo: Yeah and sometimes even when there is nobody around to talk to or when you donโt really want anybody to react to what you say, you can use this structure to just show surprise about a discovery. |
| Miseon: ๋ค. It sounds kind of like weird but thatโs right. |
| Hyunwoo: But yeah in reality, it is very natural. |
| Miseon: Right, right like oh, it was here, oh! Or oh! Thatโs good yeah. |
| Hyunwoo: Right. So letโs look at how it was used in the dialogue for this lesson. |

| Hyunwoo: I see you are here often and do you agree? |
