Do you know how to make comparisons in Korean?
You'll learn how in just a moment.
Hi, my name is Joyce, and this is Three Step Korean by KoreanClass101.com.
In this lesson, you'll learn how to make comparisons in Korean through a quick conversation.
Let's look at the dialogue.
서준 씨, 이 해물 우동이 간장 우동보다 더 매워요? (Seojun ssi, i haemul udongi ganjang udongboda deo maewoyo?)
네, 해물 국물은 고추기름 때문에 조금 매워요. (Ne, haemul gungmureun gochugireum ttaemune jogeum maewoyo.)
간장 우동은 맛이 더 순하네요. (Ganjang udongeun masi deo sunhaneyo.)
맞아요. 그리고 해물 우동이 양이 더 많아요. (Majayo. Geurigo haemul udongi yangi deo manhayo.)
그럼 하나씩 시켜서 나눠 먹을까요? (Geureom hanassik sikyeoseo nanwo meogeulkkayo?)
좋아요. 맛을 비교해 봐요! (Joayo. Maseul bigyohae bwayo!)
Let's look at it once more, with translation. Pay attention to the first sentence. It follows the key speaking pattern you'll learn later in this lesson.
서준 씨, 이 해물 우동이 간장 우동보다 더 매워요? (Seojun ssi, i haemul udongi ganjang udongboda deo maewoyo?)
Is this seafood udon spicier than soy sauce udon?
네, 해물 국물은 고추기름 때문에 조금 매워요. (Ne, haemul gungmureun gochugireum ttaemune jogeum maewoyo.)
Yes, the broth is a bit spicy because of chili oil.
간장 우동은 맛이 더 순하네요. (Ganjang udongeun masi deo sunhaneyo.)
The soy sauce udon tastes milder.
맞아요. 그리고 해물 우동이 양이 더 많아요. (Majayo. Geurigo haemul udongi yangi deo manhayo.)
That’s right. And it has a larger portion.
그럼 하나씩 시켜서 나눠 먹을까요? (Geureom hanassik sikyeoseo nanwo meogeulkkayo?)
Then should we order one of each and share?
좋아요. 맛을 비교해 봐요! (Joayo. Maseul bigyohae bwayo!)
Great idea. Let’s compare the tastes!
