Lesson Transcript

Do you know how to give directions in Korean?
You'll learn how in just a moment.
Hi, my name is Joyce, and this is Three Step Korean by KoreanClass101.com.
In this lesson, you'll learn how to give directions in Korean through a quick conversation.
Let's look at the dialogue.
저기요, 지하철역에 어떻게 가요? (Jeogiyo, jihacheolyeoge eotteoke gayo?)
카페를 나가서 오른쪽으로 쭉 가시면 돼요. (Kapereul nagaseo oreunjjokeuro jjuk gasimyeon dwaeyo.)
얼마나 가야 해요? (Eolmana gaya haeyo?)
100미터 정도 가면 입구가 보일 거예요. (Baek miteo jeongdo gamyeon ipguga boil geoyeyo.)
감사합니다. 설명이 지도 앱보다 더 쉽네요. (Gamsahamnida. Seolmyeongi jido aepboda deo swimneyo.)
아니에요. 잘 찾아가세요! (Anieyo. Jal chajagaseyo!)
Let's look at it once more, with translation.
저기요, 지하철역에 어떻게 가요? (Jeogiyo, jihacheolyeoge eotteoke gayo?)
Excuse me, how do I get to the subway station?
Pay attention to the next sentence. It follows the key speaking pattern you'll learn later in this lesson.
카페를 나가서 오른쪽으로 쭉 가시면 돼요. (Kapereul nagaseo oreunjjokeuro jjuk gasimyeon dwaeyo.)
Step out of the café and go straight to the right.
얼마나 가야 해요? (Eolmana gaya haeyo?)
How far do I need to go?
100미터 정도 가면 입구가 보일 거예요. (Baek miteo jeongdo gamyeon ipguga boil geoyeyo.)
If you walk about 100 meters, you’ll see the entrance.
감사합니다. 설명이 지도 앱보다 더 쉽네요. (Gamsahamnida. Seolmyeongi jido aepboda deo swimneyo.)
Thank you. This is easier than a map app.
아니에요. 잘 찾아가세요! (Anieyo. Jal chajagaseyo!)
No problem. Good luck finding it!
