Hi Elona,

Thanks for posting--slowing it down definitely makes it easier to listen to the audio file. ๐Ÿ˜„

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Best,

I tried slowing the video down to 0.75 of 0.5 speed the first time. That really helped!

Hi Gert-Jan,

Thanks for posting! I am not sure as to how your last name would be written as I do not know the proper spelling, but Gert-Jan(I presume the J takes on the 'Y' sound?) would be written as ๊ฒŒ๋ฅดํŠธ-์–€.

Cheers,

Lyn

Hello Lyn,

Thank you for your answer and your tips. Very helpful.

I spent some time with Amy's Hangul and three minute korean lessons (love them!) in order to guess how to write my name.

I suppose my name could be ๋˜๋„ค์Šค ๊ฒ”ํŠธ-์–€. (last name first, that much i know :-))

I put the ใ…ก at the end of my last name to get the S sound but in my first name I need an r sound and not an L. I believe that, as I formed it now, the ใ„น sounds like an L.

๊ฐ์‚ฌํ•ฉ๋‹ˆ๋‹ค (Thank you)

Hi Gert-Jan,

Thanks for posting. In the dialogue he is expressing that he is 'okay' with ordering a hamburger. That is different from saying that he likes something(์ข‹์•„ํ•ด์š”)--this expression would be used if he was asked whether he liked hamburgers or not.

If you are an absolute beginner, making flashcards would be useful in expanding your vocabulary (which is important in learning a language). Try saying all the expressions out loud so that you get used to them. Try to put together sentences using the vocabulary you learned, and post them here, and we will provide feedback.

As for your name, could you let us know how it is pronounced, so that we can try to let you know how it would be written in Korean?

Best,

Lyn

์•ˆ๋…•ํ•˜์„ธ์š”,

If he didn't say ์ข‹์•„์š”, I would never have guessed it.

I was wondering though. Why did he use ์ข‹์•„์š” instead of ์ข‹์•„ํ•ด์š”?

How are we supposed to learn these lessons? do we need to memorize it all or is it, at this stage, sufficient to recognize some words? I am an ABSOLUTE beginner.

Kind regards,

Gert-Jan (sorry, my name is impossible to write in ํ•œ๊ธ€)

I understood more in this one than in the first. Stupid me, I was originally watching these on YouTube and forgot that over here I can get the transcripts and what-not. Those make learning a fair bit easier.
