Which one was your favorite word from this video? Or, which of these places do you go to most often?

Hi Nisha,

Thanks for posting.

To answer your question, there are slightly different nuances--์‹๋‹น can be a restaurant but also a cafeteria, but ์Œ์‹์  means a shop that sells food. Both are used to mean restaurants, however. ์˜ํ™”๊ด€ is a place to see 'movies' so it is a cinema, and ๊ทน์žฅ is actually a place to see 'plays'(closer to theatre than cinema) but people will use this word when they go to the movies. So while the original meaning is slightly different, they are interchangeable.

As for going to, you would use ๋นต์ง‘์— (๋นต ์‚ฌ๋Ÿฌ) ๊ฐ‘๋‹ˆ๋‹ค.

Cheers,

Lyn

์•ˆ๋…•ํ•˜์„ธ์š”!

Also, I was wondering, how would you say "I am going to "? Would it be, for example, ์ €๋Š” ๋นต์ง‘ ๊ฐ‘๋‹ˆ๋‹ค or

์ €๋Š” ๋นต์ง‘ ๊ฐ”์–ด์š”?

I was looking at more words online, and I found that sometimes there are two words for the same place. Like ์‹๋‹น and ์Œ์‹์  for restaurant and ์˜ํ™”๊ด€ and ๊ทน์žฅ for cinema/theater. I was wondering if there is a difference in these words? Like, a dialect difference, or whether they are mere synonyms for each other.
