| In this lesson, you’ll learn conversational phrases to answer the question, "What are you doing?" After watching this video, you’ll be able to answer this question and tell someone something about what you’re writing. |
| Now, let’s take a look at some conversational phrases! |
| Listen to the dialogue. |
| 뭐 하고 있어요? (Mwo hago isseoyo?) |
| 내 일기를 쓰고 있어요. (Nae ilgireul sseugo isseoyo.) |
| Once more with the English translation. |
| 뭐 하고 있어요? (Mwo hago isseoyo?) |
| “What are you doing?” |
| 내 일기를 쓰고 있어요. (Nae ilgireul sseugo isseoyo.) |
| “I'm writing my journal.” |
| First of all you'll need to learn how to say “What are you doing?” |
| That's: |
| 뭐 하고 있어요? (Mwo hago isseoyo?) |
| Listen to it again: |
| 뭐 하고 있어요?, 뭐 하고 있어요? (Mwo hago isseoyo?, Mwo hago isseoyo?) |
| This Korean sentence literally translates as “What doing are you?” |
| But it means “What are you doing?”. |
| Now, how do you answer this question? |
| The pattern is: |
| [object]을/를 쓰고 있어요. ([object]eul/reul sseugo isseoyo.) |
| This Korean sentence literally translates as “I [object] writing about am.” |
| But it means “I'm writing [object].” |
| For example: |
| “I'm writing my journal.” |
| 내 일기를 쓰고 있어요., 내 일기를 쓰고 있어요. (Nae ilgireul sseugo isseoyo., Nae ilgireul sseugo isseoyo.) |
