Learn Korean with KoreanClass101.com! Your teenage daughter gets home from soccer practice and comes to visit you in the family room. She says to you in Korean, “Hi Dad, how was your day? You must be tired. Let me make you and Mom dinner.” Your suspicions are on high alert, but maybe she’s just being unusually thoughtful. Then she comes back and adds in Korean, “Is there something I can bake for you for dessert? What would you like?” Before you can even answer, she says, “I know! I’ll make your favorite - an apple pie.” Five minutes later, she returns and asks in Korean, “While the dinner and pie are baking, is there anything else I can do for you?” Finally, you ask her in Korean, “Okay, what is it that you need? Do you need money?” She shrugs and replies in Korean, “No, I just know how hard you work and I want to do my part too. But…it would be nice if you raised my allowance to recognize my contributions around here.” Aha! You’re no one’s fool!

You dragged into school this morning, dead tired! You really needed about four more hours of sleep! But you had so much fun hanging out with your friends in Korean last night, and well time just sort of got away from you. Now you are paying for it though! You woke up late and now you are late for school too! Your teacher is waiting at the door and she asks you in Korean, “Why did you come to school late?” You are much too tired to talk about it, but you respectfully reply in Korean, “I woke up late this morning.” She examines you the way only teachers do, and presses on in Korean, “Why did you wake up so late?” Why do teachers feel like they have to get you to confess to everything…can’t she just ask? You reply in Korean, “I went to bed too late.” AHA! She yells as if discovering a long-lost treasure! Then she proceeds to lecture you for fifteen minutes about the importance of a good eduation. Well, at least you were able to get a few more minutes of sleep…

Your little brother went to a slumber party last night to get to know the kids in his new Korean school a little better. This morning, he stumbled back home, tired from staying up all night telling ghost stories. As soon as he walked past you though, you got a whiff of something…rotten in the air! You spin around in your chair and ask him in Korean, “Did you wash yourself last night?” Grumpily, he barks back at you in Korean, “YES! I did wash myself last night!” You apologize, but tell him something stinks in the kitchen and you thought it was him. As he walks past you again, you get another horrifying whiff! It has to be him! You ask him in Korean, “Did you brush your teeth?” Sheepishly, he tells you in Korean, “No, I did not brush my teeth.” Shocked, you continue to ask him in Korean, “Did you wash your feet?” He answers you in Korean, “No…I did not wash my feet either.” Sick from the smell at this point, you ask him, “What DID you wash?” Ashamed, he answers in Korean, “I washed my toy cars in the shower!”
