Learn Korean with KoreanClass101.com! My goodness, your Korean friends are running extremely late to meet you. You can’t believe how long you’ve been waiting at the Korean mall for them to arrive. How inconsiderate of them! They’re throwing you totally off your schedule, and as a Type A maniac on the loose in the Korean mall, that’s not a good thing. You call your Korean friend, but she does not answer her cell phone. You leave a message, telling her in Korean, “I am sick to death of waiting for you. How much longer will you be?” You tap your foot incessantly, and you wonder whether the other Korean shoppers think you have some kind of illness. You decide to tell anyone who asks in Korean that you’ve discovered a great new way to lose weight…by being in constant motion! You’ll tell them in Korean that you’re writing a book about the power of nervous energy. Yes, that’s it! Of course, it could just be that your hunger is getting to you, so maybe that’s really not a good idea. You look across the Korean mall at the food court and decide maybe a snack is in order while you wait. There’s no reason you should starve to death while you’re waiting!

Learn Korean with KoreanClass101.com! Wow, you never knew how much stuff you’d packed into your little apartment until it was time to move to Korea! And you thought the hard work was done before your Korean move, but now that you’re facing having to unpack all your boxes in Korea, you’re already feeling exhausted. Fortunately, you’ve recruited (or rather, bribed) your Korean friends to help you unpack. That means your new Korean apartment is a flurry of activity and a constant chorus of the Korean question, “Where should we put this box?” In directing your friends, you tell them in Korean, “Please put the box in the room indicated on the label.” You think to yourself in Korean, thank goodness for my meticulous labeling system: each label details in Korean what the box contains and where the box is supposed to go. As the boxes begin to stack up, you can no longer even see the floor of your Korean apartment. Maybe you should divide and conquer the decoration of the apartment among your Korean friends, or then again, maybe not…you’ve always been a little bit of a control freak. What if they put a piece of furniture in the wrong place or hang a picture on the wrong wall of your Korean apartment! Horrors!

Learn Korean with KoreanClass101.com! You’re struggling to finish your paper for your Korean class before the deadline when your computer screen suddenly goes blank. You yell in Korean, “What the heck just happened?” You try to get your Korean file back, but try as you might, you’re having no luck. You even start talking to the computer, encouraging it in Korean to “just cooperate please!” You plead with your computer, saying in Korean, “I’ve been working so hard on his paper for a week, but I only have one hour until it’s due!” Apparently, your Korean plea is lost on your computer, which remains quiet and blank. You hope the computer’s recovery feature saves your file, and fingers crossed, you press restart and hope for the best. When even that last-ditch measure doesn’t seem to work, you decide to call the help desk at your Korean university to see if the staff there can help. But maybe you need to call your Korean professor and let her know the computer ate your homework too…

You can’t wait to go shopping with your friends, who have promised to buy you lots of fun things today at the Korean mall. You tell your friends in Korean, “I want a new sweater, and a new pair of gloves, and a yellow scarf, and maybe a green scarf too, just in case.” Your friends start to roll their eyes, but unfazed, you continue in Korean, “And I want some new boots, and maybe a new hat.” You pause for a moment, and then you add in Korean, “And, since it’s my birthday, can we go to that cheesecake place for lunch? It’s my favorite!” Finally, your friends have had enough and tell you in Korean, “Yes, we can go to lunch, but stop making a list of things you want! And remember, we aren’t made of money!”

Learn Korean with KoreanClass101.com! Your friend studying abroad with you in Korea has been struggling to pick up the Korean language now for some time, while you’ve been breezing through your Korean lessons on KoreanClass101.com. So when you walked over to his house this afternoon, the first thing he did was ask you about the grade you got on your Korean quiz that morning. You proudly tell him in Korean, “I got an A.” Your friend responds in Korean, “I don’t know how you do it. The Korean language is so hard to learn! It’s so different from English.” While he continues to whine in Korean, you pat him on the shoulder. When he’s done, you reply in Korean, “No, you’re just making it hard on yourself. In order to learn Korean, all you have to do is listen to the same Korean lessons I do and do a little practice.” He just shakes his head in amazement and says in Korean, “But you’ve always been a better student than me. Are you sure I can learn Korean too?” You nod and reassure him in Korean, “I promise, if you study your lessons, you will learn Korean in no time at all. What are you waiting for?”
