Your manager interjects in Korean, “Well, this might not be a regular planning meeting.” “What might it be?” you ask in Korean, a bit taken aback, and wondering who else might be monitoring those hidden cameras. “The president might want you to move to Japan for a few years,” your boss explains in Korean. It would have been nice if I didn’t try so hard to make people like me…, it would have been nice if yesterday had been Friday in fact…I could stay in bed all weekend and try to forget about my terrible life!” Not being able to hold your tongue, you snap back in Korean, “I should have the ‘problems’ you have…company dinners and such! I should have practiced more…it would have been nice to see the Seoul Olympics! But I’m not whining about it!”
