Learn Korean with KoreanClass101.com! You are enjoying what was a quiet picnic lunch in a quiet Korean park, when suddenly, your children come barreling towards you screaming! It seems like it takes ten minutes to calm them and their friends down enough so that you can concentrate on one voice at a time! Your son yells in Korean, “Mom, mom!!! We were at the pond and we saw something moving in the water!!” His friend, equally excited, continues in Korean, “Come see, come see!! Pleeeease! What IS it?” Laughing, both out of relief and because they are adorable, you agree to go explore the depths of the pond with them. As you reach the edge of the water, both boys are tugging at you and screaming in Korean, “See it? There it is!! What is that???” You move a little closer to get a better look, almost stumbling into the water (which you are SURE they would have enjoyed tremendously), when you realize what it is they are talking about. You point to the little swimmer in the water and tell the boys in Korean, “That is a frog…and that one there, that is a newt.” The boys stare into the water with a newfound fascination; you can almost hear the wheels spinning in their heads, when they turn and look at you and both reply in Korean, “Can we keep him, can we keep him? PLEEEEEAAAASE???” Well, KoreanClass101.com can’t prepare you for everything, you know?

Learn Korean with KoreanClass101.com! You are finally finished after a very busy week between your office in Korea and studying to speak Korean! But it’s all behind you now…and you are running late to meet your girlfriend! You excitedly rush to meet her apologizing as you throw your arms around her! You apologetically explain in Korean, “I am so sorry! I should have taken the subway!” Just thrilled to finally see something besides your face buried in Korean books and files, she replies in Korean, “It’s okay. Perhaps, I should have met you at your office!” You both agree it doesn’t matter now. All that matters now is spending some time together this weekend! Arriving at the movie theater in Seoul though, she asks if you remembered the tickets. Realizing things cannot get any worse, you apologize once more in Korean, “I should have bought tickets, but I forgot!” This is not going well. Maybe you can just take her to a lovely Korean dinner to make up for your forgetfulness. You offer to take her anywhere she wants to go in Korea for dinner - sky’s the limit! She regretfully replies, “I shouldn’t have eaten tonight before we met.” Something tells you that you are both going to have a lot of regrets about tonight…

Learn Korean with KoreanClass101.com! You look over at your friend, who is intently looking up at the sky in Korea. You watch your friend for a moment, then scour the sky, but you still can’t tell what has captured your Korean friend’s attention. You ask your friend in Korean, “Why are you looking up at the sky? Are you waiting for aliens to abduct you?” Your friend responds in Korean, “Haha, you’re very funny. I’m just looking at these clouds and making shapes with them.” You pause to look at the clouds, and then you ask your friend in Korean, “Why are you doing this?” Your friend responds in Korean, “Because it’s entertaining to me. See that cloud over there? I think it looks like my uncle. See this one over here? I think it looks like a flower.” You get ready to ask your friend in Korean why this is a good use of his time, but you bite your tongue. Instead, you say in Korean, “Why don’t we go get some lunch when you’re done with your cloud artwork?”
