Ultimate Getting Started with Korean Sale BONUS Korean Lesson - World Cup Vocabulary 1. Study Tips from Peter - THINK in another language Peter here. Starting this month I’ll be sharing tips on learning languages to help keep you motivated and progressing. This month I’ll teach you how to THINK in another language. It’s not nearly as difficult as it sounds so don’t give up right away; try out these 3 simple study “hacks” in your daily life. Write vocabulary on post-it notes that you can place around your home. When it’s time to brush your teeth or when you look in the mirror, you’ll seef the word for “mirror” or “toothbrush” in the target language each time, building a strong visual association with the word through repetition. Schedule your day in your target language. Instead of writing “Groceries at 5pm on 6/29/2010″ write it how a native speaker would and in their time and date format. Feeling comfortable with appointments in your second language will make social meetups easier and prepare you for business too! Count in the language. Doing pushups? Counting your stacks of cash? Doing anything else with numbers? Use the language at these times and recalling numbers will be as natural as tying your shoes! Try these out and report back in the forums or give us a shout out on our Facebook page to let us know if you try it. Peter Galante 2. The Perks of Being a Founding Father! Memorial Day: On June 6th, South Korea commemorates men and women who died while in military service or independence movement, very similar to Memorial Day in the United States. A public service is held at the National Cemetery on this day. This day is particularly significant this year due to a recent torpedo strike upon a South Korean military ship that resulted in the death of 46 South Korean sailors. Though this tragedy won’t be forgotten, the country received a welcomed distraction when The Taeguk Warriors blanked Greece 2-0 in their 2010 World Cup opener. 4.
