Some phrases (Updated: Added some more phrases in Post 7)

Postby nick8986 » August 7th, 2012 3:41 pm

Hello everyone,

I just signed up to the site late last week. It's been great so far! I was wondering if you could help me with some phrases:

"This is the last time I'm going to ask."

"I promise."

"Forget about what I said before."

"I understand."

"It's okay."

"Sometimes I'm too emotional."

If you could put these into Hangul and Romanization, that'd be wonderful :) Thanks!

Hi Anne and the KoreanClass101 Team,

Could you help me with some more phrases? I'd really appreciate it! As in before, please include them in Hangul and Romanization =)

"I'm happy to see you!"

"What brought you here?"

"How long will you be staying?"

"You make me so happy!"

"I enjoy spending time with you."

"When is your birthday?"

"How old are you?"

"I got this for you."

"When are you free?"

Thank you again in advance. I really appreciate your help! ^_^

Thank you again, Anne! It's been about 2 weeks since I've started learning and my Hangugeo is progressing pretty well. I was able to start dating a Korean girl too because of your help! ^_^ Her English is also improving as well as my Korean. It's been a lot of fun. Joining KC101 and this community has been one of the smartest things I've ever done lol.

I have some more phrases I could use your help with. These are a little more complicated because they are fill ins, so I may need multiple examples for each phrase. I think this will help me a lot with understanding the sentence structures for Hangugeo. Again, Hangul and Romanization please :)

Please do the initial phrase without filling in the blank, and then do the examples below it. Feel free to add your own examples if you can and if you think they will help.

"What did you ________?"
Ex1: "What did you do today?"

"What ________ do you like?"
Ex1: "What food do you like?"
Ex2: "What kind of dramas do you like?"

"I like ________."
Ex1: "I like Italian food."
Ex2: "I like to watch movies."

"I don't like _______."
Ex1: "I don't like British food."
Ex2: "I don't like to watch TV."

Ex2: "What was your favorite part of today?"

"My favorite is ________."
Ex1: "My favorite movie is The Hunger Games."
Ex2: "My favorite is you." or "You're my favorite."

"Let's go _______!"
Ex1: "Let's go eat!"
Ex2: "Let's go to the mall."

"Have you ever been ______?"
Ex1: "Have you ever been to the mall?"
Ex2: "Have you ever been to a baseball game?"

"Would you want _______?"
Ex1: "Would you want to go?"
Ex2: "Would you want to stay here?"

"I have ________."
Ex1: "I have Game of Thrones, Full House, City Hunter, and Pasta."
Ex2: "I have to go."
Ex3: "I have to go to work."

"I want ________."
Ex1: "I want food."
Ex2: "I want to see you."
Ex3: "I want to go out with you."

"I went to ________."
Ex1: "I went to work."
Ex2: "I went to the gym"
Ex3: "I went to visit my grandma."

"I ate ________."
Ex1: "I ate pizza."
Ex2: "I ate with my friends."
Ex:3 "We ate pasta."

"Do you promise?"

"Let's go to sleep."

"When will you come back?"

"I dreamt about you last night."

"Will you wait for me?"

"I won't hurt you."

"I will work hard for you."

Sorry... I know this is A LOT to ask and that some of these are pretty corny, but hopefully it'll help take both my Hangugeo and relationship to the next level. I'll keep you updated on how things go. Thanks a ton! XD
