Thanks steve and hyun woo but.... it didn't work. I can type in Japanese now only because my friend installed it for me with another operating system. The problem is I don't have any discs or anything for Windows XP because of that. When I try to install those files it always says I need another file from the CD... :( And I looked on adding the Korean keyboard and Korean isn't even in my list  AH. I hate computers! :?:

If you've got windows... Look in windows update, I think you can download the support there. I don't know though.

That link explains the install quite well. It sounds like you (bemyduende) are simply missing the install files. Most pre-installed systems have all of the files available on the hard drive so the install is fairly seamless. If that isn't the case you are going to have to track down an install disc in order actually get IME installed. Good luck :) .

I ran into a problem today while installing a Korean typing program...I of course installed the IME a couple years ago and have been able to read websites and type in Korean...The problem is windows itself won't display the Hangul like in the installation boxes and in the program itself.

That is a problem inherent in the English language version of Windows. I don't think there is a work around for that one. The dialog boxes come up unencoded and I don't think there is a way to encode them specifically. The embedded Flash games on that learn hangul website has the same problem.

Try this and see if you can read the installation guide stuff....it's all symbols to me. Even though my computer reads Hangul everywhere else...... http://www.joinda.com/ProTaja/protaja_down.php

Hi ralama9,

Thanks for posting! Both are grammatically correct, but '안녕하셔요' is a more 'old' way of saying 'hello' in Korean. Recently, native Koreans tend to say '안녕하세요' when they are greeting someone.

Cheers,

translation (or at least what it's supposed to say)

Hello!
I'm Adrienne but that name is hard to say in korean so my Korean name is "Min Jang Mi". I've been studying korean for.. six months. I've been watching kdrama since two years ago. I like movies and restaurants and I want to live in Korea but I am currently living in America (I have no money)

nice to meet you!

Hi Adrienne,

Thanks for posting. To take a look at what you wrote in Korean:

(I live in America and would like to live in Korea but can't at the moment as I have no money)

Cheers,
Lyn
