POST CONVERSATION BANTER
Jaehwi: 김란씨, 우리 저번 시간에 불가능하다 라는 뜻의 ‘무리’라는 단어를 배웠죠? 그 프로젝트는 무리다 The project is impossible 같은 표현도 배웠구요.
Lan: 네 맞아요.
Jaehwi: 그런데 가능하다 라는 말은 어떻게 이야기하면 좋을까요? 예를 들어서 영어로 I can do it, 이나 I will do my best 같은 표현 말이죠?
Lan: 그럴 떄에는 간단하게 ‘최선을 다하겠습니다'라고 이야기할 수 있어요.
Jaehwi: 맞아요. 최선 은 best 라는 뜻이니까, 최선을 다하겠습니다 라는 의미는 I will do my best 라는 의미죠?.
Lan: 네. 아니면 이렇게 말할 수 있어요. ‘불가능 한 것을 가능하게 만들겠습니다.’
Jaehwi: Let me make the impossible possible. 한국에서는 사실과는 조금 다르더라도 조금 더 자신감있게 대답하는 게 더 중요하기 때문에 이렇게 이야기하는 것이 좋습니다.
Lan: 자, 리스너 여러분도 한국어를 말할 때는 조금 더 자신감을 갖고 이야기해보세요.
Jaehwi: 모두 화이팅입니다! 자, 그럼 오늘 배운 주요 단어들 알아볼까요?

VOCAB AND PHRASE USAGE
Lan: 자, 그럼 이번 레슨에 나온 중요한 단어를 알아볼까요? 오늘의 단어는 ‘술김에', ‘화난 김에'
Jaehwi: under the influence of alcohol, under the influence of anger.
Lan: 술김에 에서 조사 ‘김’은 무슨 뜻인가요?
Jaehwi: ‘김’이라는 단어는 influence 아니면 chance 라는 의미를 갖고 있어요. 그리고 ‘김에’라고 하면 under the influence of 라는 의미입니다.
Lan: ‘김에’라는 표현은 영향을 준 원인에 대한 명사를 넣어야 되요.
Jaehwi: You can put the reason of the influence in front of 김에. 예를 들어서 under the influence of alcohol 이라는 말은,
Lan: 술김에. 라고 이야기하면 되요.
Jaehwi: 그럼 화가 나서 그것때문에 무엇무엇을 했을 때는 어떻게 만들면 되나요?
Lan: 홧김에 라고 이야기할 수 있어요.
Jaehwi: anger 는 한국어로 ‘화’라고 이야기하죠? to get angry 는 ‘화가 나다’ ‘화나다’ 라고 표현할 수 있구요. 여기에 ‘김에’를 붙여서 under the influence of anger 라는 표현은 어떻게 말할 수 있을까요?
Lan: 화김에. 조금 더 자연스럽게 말하면 ‘홧김에’. 라고 말할 수 있어요.
Jaehwi: 자, 그럼 오늘의 주요 문법 표현 알아볼까요?

Lesson focus

Lan: 이번 시간에 배울 표현은 ‘방금 무엇무엇을 하려는 참이다' 입니다.
Jaehwi: The focus of this lesson is the phrase 방금 무엇무엇을 하려는 참이다, which means "to be about to do something"
Jaehwi: 무언가를 금방 시작하려고 할 때 이 표현을 사용할 수 있죠?
Lan: 네. ‘하려는 참이다'에서 ‘참이다'는 무슨 의미죠?
Jaehwi: ‘참이다’라는 단어는 to be about to 이라는 의미입니다. 따라서 ‘무엇무엇을 하려는 참이다'라는 표현은 ‘to about to do something’이라는 뜻이 되죠. 그럼 어떻게 사용할 수 있나요?
Lan: “ 방금 나가려는 참이다. “
Jaehwi: I was about to leave now / or I have plans to leave now.
Lan: 또는 방금 막 클라이언트와 회의를 하려는 참이다.
Jaehwi: "I was about to have a meeting with the clients."
Jaehwi:You can simply put the phrase 려는 참이다 with the verb stem of the other verbs. If the last syllable of the verb-stem has a 받침, then you can add 으 between those two. 예를 들어서 ‘하다’라는 동사는 받침이 없으니까 ‘하려는 참이다’ 라고 이야기하면 되요. 김란씨, 그럼 I was about to eat the food는 어떻게 한국어로 말할 수 있죠?
Jaehwi: 김란씨는요?
Lan: 저는 이제 막 리스너 여러분과 인사하려는 참이에요. 여러분은 다음주에 무엇을 할 참이에요?
Jaehwi: 다음주에 어떤 일을 할 계획인지 KoreanClass101.com 코멘트박스에 글을 남겨주세요. 자, 그럼 다음에 뵈요.
Lan: 좋은 하루 보내세요!
