Have some tea like the citron tea(유자차) and ginger tea(생강차), when you get a cold.
It's good for a cold.

You're right. We usually use 고참 in the military society.

:razz:PLUS
고참(Gocham)'s opposite word is 신참(Sincham).
Besides generally senior is 선배(Seonbae) and junior is 후배(Hubae).

Thanks, Eric. It seems that 고참 is more of a formal, specific term especially related to the military. 선배 seems to be more of a casual term that does not have the same connotation of the superior/subordinate relationship. Perhaps (and this is just my guess), 선배 is used to address an acquaintance whom one doesn't feel intimate enough with to use the family terms like 오빠 or 형.

As for Kyungeun and Hyunwoo.....

(In my opinion, it doesn't seem to be much of a problem. Rather than Kyungeun being harsh, I would just say that Korean women in general like ordering other people when they're in comfortable relationships. Considering the fact that she's worked with Hyeonwoo for so long, it's only natural that she should be like this. I look forward to the next season of Korean Class 101.

피터 , it was 고참들.
고참= seniority, senior, old-timer, veteran. I believe it can be used in contexts other than the military, just like in English (e.g. in a company or any organized group). No idea when 고참 is used rather than 선배, though. Is there a difference in usage or a different connotation between these two words? Does anyone know?

[Teacher Kyungeun shouldn’t be so harsh to teacher Hyunwoo. That was cold, wasn’t it? It was unnecessary, don't you think? I for one didn’t know Kyungeun was the kind to give such a hard time. (Why? Can’t she help it? Maybe in reality she likes Hyunwoo; I wonder…?) Anyway I am saying this is the end of Intermediate Lesson S2. Therefore, please be nice, teachers.]
