Learn Korean with KoreanClass101.com! Action and reaction…isn’t that one of the laws of physics we learned in grade school? Well, in life in Korea, you’ve learned that every action you take provokes a reaction, whether good or bad, from your girlfriend. So if you’re late to pick her up when you plan a date in Korea, you better have a good reason and call ahead. And when you forget to do something, you have to make it up to her by buying her a Korean trinket so you won’t be in the doghouse. So this time, when you are finally getting some time off in Korea to spend with her, you want to make sure everything is right. You decide to plan everything advance and you set up reservations at her favorite Korean restaurant, buy tickets to the Korean show she’s been wanting to see, and you even arrange transportation. You try to think of every last detail to please her so you won’t run into any pouting on your date (or hearing complaints in Korean about it later). As you run through your plans in your mind, suddenly you slap yourself on the forehead and say to yourself in Korean, “I better bring her flowers to prevent her from complaining that she never gets them later.”

Learning Korean with KoreanClass101.com is the most fun and effective way to learn Korean! i’m loving these situations with this poor private soldier. it’s so funny and insightful to hear the way he’s treated by his seniors.
i think these lessons are a rare way for foreigners to gain a bit of insight into the life of a Korean private soldier. they are put together very well. please keep them up!!

[The girlfriend’s line: “MyungRyol Yu, I said you shouln’t come around here during your leave. I like you and you’ve always treated me well but I can’t deal with you being in the military for 3 years. I’m saying that, rather than wait for you, I need to find myself a nice someone else who can address me using informal language. Gosh, 3 years…It’s only natural that I go out with someone else…What are you saying?… “We, we, we”?…Wake up and listen carefully! I said there is no “we”. So, to avoid bothering me, don’t call me again from now on. Now, leave quickly…Ha, if only you weren’t a simple private…”]

Eric… Yikes! Private 유명열 may actually be getting himself out of a bad situation after all… 여자 친구가 무서우니까…

피터랑 Daniel K한테,
KC101 really brought up an interesting character; I can’t wait to hear what really happens to this sad soldier on his first leave. At this stage of the show, there is usually only a few possibilities: 1) a 2nd guy that completes the love triangle appears, 2) some sudden grave illness or accident messes up everything, or 3) the guy goes nuts (not always in a bad way)…any combination of 1,2,3 is possible, too
