What’s the specific difference between ‘dasi’ and ‘ddo’ for the word ‘again’?

Sorry this is my work computer - no hangul!

avatar
선현우 says:

Trent :)

If you want to say, for example, “I’ll come back. or I’ll come again.”

다시 올게요 and 또 올게요 are identical :)

But 또 has some more ‘accusing’ feel to it sometimes.

If you want to say “You did it again?” accusingly, you can say 또 그랬어?

But you can’t say 다시 그랬어?

And 다시 has some more nuance of ‘re-doing something to make it better’ to it.

If you want to say “Do it again. Try again.” you can say 다시 해 봐.

but not, 또 해 봐. :)

Hope this helps!

Trent says:

THanks - I think I get where you’re coming from!

What does 별로 mean?

avatar
Koreanclass101.com says:

 Hi Jiageng,

별로 means ‘(not)very’ or ‘(not)much’

You can say 나는 별로 좋아하지 않다 to mean ‘I don’t like it THAT MUCH’

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
