Today is the first birthday you will celebrate in Korea and your friends wake you up with a big surprise! They tell you in Korean, “get up and get dressed and come to breakfast!” Excitedly, you pull on some clothes and rush to the kitchen. There all of your family and friends in Korea greet you. They tell you in Korean, “happy birthday and we have a surprise for you!” They bring you a big bowl of soup. Hmm…you tell them in Korean, “thank you, it looks great and I must get this recipe!” They are so pleased they begin arguing in Korean over how to prepare the succulent soup. Some say in Korean, “add meat and oil first.” Others say in Korean, “add water and sugar!” You had no idea you were getting breakfast AND a show for your birthday!
