Wait until your Dad gets hold of you! He trusted you for one afternoon with his credit card and this is how you chose to use (or abuse) that trust? How could you really believe what the Korean salesman told you? I know, I know…they told you in Korean that if you spent all your money on their new product they would send you a free gift in the mail. Did you give them your address though? And I know, you heard on the television that all the top Korean models use their brand of face cleanser. But, do you really think top Korean models shop for their facial cleansers in the Korean open markets? Think about it. Did you even hear your father when he told you not to spend all the money on his credit card when you went shopping in Korea? I don’t think he is going to be happy at all! Here he comes now and he looks MAD! No, I don’t think he really means you have thin ears! Oh my gosh! Do you believe everything you are told?!

Everything that could go wrong this morning in Korea-has! The alarm clock didn’t go off, you spilled coffee on your pants, and the kids were fighting all morning! You are late running out the door to your Korean office when the phone rings. The carpool you ride with to Seoul had a flat tire, too! Great!! You flag down a Korean taxi and climb inside feeling rushed and flustered. There’s the phone again, only this time it’s your boss. He is angry (with good reason) and demands to know in Korean where you are and when you will be at work! Suddenly you become conscious of the fact that the Korean taxi isn’t even moving! Outside, there are cars everywhere-none of them moving an inch! Your boss is still screaming into the phone in Korean. All you can think to say to him in Korean is… “I need SO much more time!”

Well, your wife’s Korean grandmother finally heard your stomach growl! It almost scared her half to death…she thought for sure you had some kind of animal bursting out of your stomach! After your wife calmed her down and explained in Korean that you were just hungry, you all had a good laugh…well, everyone except you. Her Korean grandmother is determined though to teach you how to speak Korean right after you have a good meal. She sets you down at the table with some of the best Korean food you have ever put in your mouth…or maybe you are just starving. After you finish your first helping, she holds the pan out to you as if she is offering you more and asks you something in Korean. She repeats the Korean words again, waiting for you to repeat them to her. Your training has begun. If you want more of this heavenly Korean substance in your empty belly, you had better start repeating!
