내버려 두다 and 방치하다 are almost same.
I think 방치하다 sounds more negative in nuance.

내버려 둔 지 오래 된 자동차 (O)
방치된 지 오래 된 자동차 (O)

나쁜 부모는 아이를 내버려 둔다. (O)
나쁜 부모는 아이를 방치한다. (O)

"I" shouldn't be an object of 방치하다 verb.

날 좀 내버려 둬. (O)
날 좀 방치해 줘. (X) - awkward

둬 is an imperative form of 두다

두다 : to put, to place, to leave, to keep, etc.
그만두다 : to quit, to stop

날 내버려 둬 : leave me alone
날 내버려 : throw me away

거기 그대로 놔 둬 : keep it there as it is (놔: 놓아)
거기 그대로 놔 : put it down right there

can get the differences?

KClass101, 수고하셨습니다!

By the way, I interpreted 아쉽게 to mean something like "sadly, unfortunately." So, could you translate the ending of this lesson to "Sadly, this is the end of the intermediate series" or "Oh, it's the end, too bad!"? Hmm, a little bit awkward... that word is difficult to translate, and to use for us Korean learners!

I liked all the uses of 웬만하면. I suppose here it means something like "if you don't mind, Keith, I'll explain...", but shortened to Korean language efficiency levels!

Michel :)

"~고 하니까"는 "I said *something* and *this* happened"라는 느낌이에요.

하지만 이렇게 쓸 수도 있어요 :)

"니가 일 그만둔다고 하니까 사장님이 뭐라고 했어?"
What did your boss say when you said you wanted to quit?

안녕 현우쌤,

잘 지냈어요? 어제 나온 blog를 잘 들었지만 질문이 하나 있어요. "다고 하니까" 란 표현이 first person만 싸야돼요. 아니면 2nd, 3rd person도 써도 돼요?

예를 들으면

She told me to go so I was sad
그년는 나에게 나간다고 하니까 너무 슬퍼졌어요.

You said to come early so I did

넌 나에게 일찍 온다고 하니까 그랬어요.

맞요?

Jacqueline, :)

Yeah! 두번째 중급 레슨이 기다리고 있어요!!

And 제발 means "please" "I beg you" while 부탁하다 is a verb to mean "to ask for a favor" :)

쵝오! is a funny way of writing "최고" which means "the best" "the top" :) People like to change the spelling of words for fun, but if you read the word and pronounce it loud, you can see the meaning :)

Ex) 옵하 (오빠) :)
