Learn Korean with Jeongeun? Aren’t Audio Blogs with Hyunwoo? Well, it’s a bit of a change, but not too much of a change. Jeongeun is Hyunwoo’s niece. So we want to change things up a bit, and try to freshen things up as much as we can. We don’t want to give away too much information now, but for the time being, let’s hear Hyunwoo say his goodbye! 안녕하세요, 여러분. 선현우입니다. 오늘은 여러분을 위해서 깜짝 선물을 준비했습니다.
제가 지난 주에 ‘깜짝 선물’이 있다고 했는데, 무슨 내용인지 궁금하셨죠? 우선, 여러분, 항상 제 오디오 블로그를 들어 주셔서 정말 감사합니다. KoreanClass101 웹사이트에 오셔서 코멘트를 남겨 주셔서 정말 감사하고, 그리고 제 오디오 블로그를 이용해서 열심히 한국어 공부를 해 주셔서 정말 감사합니다.
제 오디오 블로그는 작년 가을에 시작했는데, 이번 오디오 블로그가 벌써 30번째 오디오 블로그입니다. 거의 7개월 동안, 여러분에게 한국에 관한 여러 가지 이야기를 들려 드리려고 노력했어요. 그동안 여러분의 한국어 공부에 많이 도움이 되었으면 좋겠네요.
그런데 다음 오디오 블로그부터는, 여러분에게, 새로운 목소리를 소개하려고 합니다. 지금까지 제 이야기를 들으면서 재미있게 공부하셨어요? 그렇다면 다음 주부터는 정은이의 이야기를 들으면서 더 재미있게 공부하실 수 있을 거예요. 정은이는 제 조카인데, 친 조카는 아니고, 친척이에요. 지금 고등학교 3학년인데, 정은이의 오디오 블로그를 통해서 한국 고등학교 3학년의 생활에 대한 이야기를 들어 보세요. 재미있겠죠? 저도 많이 기대하고 있습니다!
그럼 다음 주부터 시작되는 정은이의 오디오 블로그에 많은 관심 부탁 드리고, 저는 다른 레슨들에서 다시 찾아뵙겠습니다.

Is there a paragraph in the audio blog that wasn’t translated to English in the notes? I was going through the vocab and saw words about 30 and 7months, but didn’t remember reading that in the English. I’m not proficient enough to figure the Korean out myself, so please help! Thanks!
How old would a 3rd year high school student be? The girl in the picture (is that 정은?) looks very young to me, like 10 or 12 at most???

I am glad you’re not leaving as well! I’m not at the level to study audio blogs yet, but I listen to them occasionally just to see what words I can recognize.

And yes, you’re right. The third paragraph didn’t make it into the translation in the PDF for some reason. But we will put that in ASAP. But in the mean while, the translation for the third paragraph is as follows:
“My audio blog started in the Autumn of last year, and this audio blog is already the 30th audio blog. For almost 7 months, I’ve tried to tell you various stories about Korea. I hope it has been helpful to your Korean learning so far.”
And a 3rd yaer high school student in Korea is 18 years old, but 정은 has a baby face and looks exceptionally young. Hehe. (I’m sure she’ll be happy to hear that she looks young… if not now, when she gets a bit older . ^^)

Ok, I think I understand that Hyunwoo’s not doing the blogs any more, but staying at KClass. I understood enough Korean to know that something serious was happening, but wasn’t sure what! I’m relieved to know that it’s nothing too serious!

Thank you for your dedication in creating such interesting and helpful audio blogs. I know my Korean has improved greatly in large part because of listening to your audio blogs and replying in Korean (like Michel, I understood everything in this audio blog– just by listening, and without looking at the transcript!).

Yeah, I am happy that I was able to understand it all just by listening, but I do realize that this blog didn’t have too many new/ particularly difficult words or hard grammar.
…So, I’ll also be pretending that it means my Korean’s better, even though lately it has seemed like the opposite for some reason, when I’ve tried to speak to Korean people in Korean…

Thanks so much, Hyunwoo. You’ve added a ton of content and a great way for even newbies like me to get more into Korean, and I really appreciate all the work you’ve done on the blog series. Already 30 blogs, wow!
The audio blogs were my favorite downloads each week. I liked being able to listen to 100% Korean about various different subjects, and learn pronunciation and new ways of expressing ideas. The new blog will give a new perspective on things, but thanks for all your hard work up till now! 수고하셨어요
