Hyunwoo is so modest. We love your voice too, Hyunwoo.

Speaking of pictures…I tried to do my own sound clip for Korean practice, and it has my picture on it (my way of avoiding video  ). But I can’t convert it from Windows Movie Maker format. If someone can help me, you’ll see my picture on it.

Isn’t Mount Halla the one that Sam Soon climbs to yell out Gestalt-type things regarding her troubled love situation? I wonder if that’s effective anti-stress therapy…

After I take picture and develop it. It doesn’t look like me, or most of the times I look really bad…

I have never went to 한라산 nor I watched 김삼순..I actually really want to go to 한라산 and watch 김삼순..
I really really want to go to Jeju island. Haven’t been there neither..

누가 시작했는지는 모르겠어요 ( I don’t know who started that )

(but… my guess is … Koreans never used to say anything when taking pictures other than 하나, 둘, 셋, but then they learned that in some other countries they say ‘cheese’ , so why not 김치, because it takes your mouth shape that of a smile… haha :D )

Keith says:

Michel,

I had a lot of Persian friends in college, and whenever they took a picture, they would say gleefully, ” Say KHOMEINI”! Now *that* made even the crankiest person bust out laughing. (You have to realise that they meant it to be tongue-in-cheek.)

avatar
Jeff (Javis) says:

I posted a picture.

avatar
선현우(Hyunwoo Sun) says:

It would be difficult to say KHOMEINI while putting your tongue in cheek.

Jeff :-) Nice one!!

I have a question: Is “Let’s…” ,…자,only used in 반물,or can it be used in the standard politeness level as well?

avatar
선현우(Hyunwoo Sun) says:

Ann :)

When you want to say “Let’s” in 반말, it’s -자 (가자, 놀자, 먹자, 자자) as you know, and when you want to say “Let’s” in 존댓말 (polite language), it’s -요 (가요. :)

avatar
Ann says:

Oh well,that’s easy.
Thanks a lot.

In the expansion with audio section, the last sentence for 셋 is written as “I have 3 apples”, but that is not what the audio says. Is it “I have 3 brothers.”? Thank you. Palapala

Page 4 of notes the infinitive form of 하다 is used for the accompanying definition of “let’s do”. I think the writers of the notes meant to say 하자.
