물론파티합시다!!!!
We could meet on cyworld !
I’m a complete cyworld newbie, but I think you can have clubs there (like Mixi’s communities); Jpod and Epod both have communities on Mixi …
And besides, I already have a cake

I think we need a lesson on 그렇다 and demonstratives with their constant changes and meanings in certain situations, especially when this verb us used as a single sentence.

I think it’s funny how birthday parties are by invite only, yet weddings are open to everyone in the world!

Nice to see you on Cyworld!!! I think I’m the first one to write in your guestbook hehe.
민식,
It’s a good idea! 그렇다 can be used for so many purposes.
그렇습니다!

Haha, yes, then there’s this congratulatory ‘money’ you pay if you go to a friend’s wedding.
Friday at 1:08 pm
I’ve been to a couple Korean weddings… At the first one, I heard the priest/officiating official mention something about money. I asked my Korean friend if they were announcing how much money, and he said yes: they were announcing how much gift money the bride and groom had respectively brought in!
Friday at 2:54 pm
Let’s not forget that the money is really for the parents of the the couple.
My principal’s son got married last year, and the next week she showed up at school with a brand new car!
Friday at 3:18 pm
And that’s EXACTLY why when I go to a friend’s wedding, I don’t put my 축의금(congratulatory money) into the big white box - I usually try to get there early, just meet my friend in person and give the money directly to him/her. That way, they can spend that money on their honeymoon or whatever in the future.
Friday at 3:19 pm
Today’s Audio Blog is going to be about weddings in Korea, so be sure to listen to that!

Isn’t that racism or something?
Tuesday at 10:33 am
코끼리들?
무슨 말이에요?
Tuesday at 7:56 pm
Oh, it had nothing to do w/the conversation that was going on. I just studied the “끼리” pattern and had to think of 코끼리 (I hope I spelled it right…).
I haven’t written about elephants since first grade Korean school
