여러분… 남자친구/여자친구 있어요? (Everyone… do you have a boyfriend/girlfriend?)
Tuesday at 8:45 pm

Pardon me if you’ve made an announcement on this already, but none of the Newbie Season 2 videos are accessible, or downloadable, through iTunes.

I don’t know what’s happening to me lately ^^. I just found out that we are in Newbie season 2 ㅋㅋㅋand it’s already lesson 3, so season 2 began some weeks ago! ㅋㅋㅋ
I seriously need to rest for some time ㅋㅋㅋ
Wednesday at 7:56 am
Again, I didn’t understand the intros. But it sounded interesting. I caught that Keith was sleeping but apart from that …. zilch.
Twas a good lesson. 여자친구 없어요 그런데 제친구는 여자친구 있어요. And she is quite beautiful! But I do have a 홀딱 반함. How do I say that I have a crush on someone?
Wednesday at 10:55 am
um I don’t like this question
haha ^^
my friends say ,
“you are so particular~ lower your sight”
but, the most serious problem is
that i’m graually getting use to do not have a boyfriend
of course I don’t have to make a boyfriend for sure. hehe

Hi Sean:
thanks for voicing your concern
We’re working on getting all of the Video Vocab’s up to date, but we’re a little behind on them… Sorry! We’ll get them out as soon as possible!!
쟈클린… ㅎㅎ it’s okie
I can hardly believe it’s here myself
Matt:
Intro was:
아들… 뭐 하니? (Son… what are you doing?)
지금 자요. (I’m sleeping.)
그래 공부 너무 많이 하고, 빨리 자~ (Don’t study so much, and go to sleep soon.)
네 (Alright)
And as for a crush… I would say “좋아하는 사람이 있어요.” (I have someone I like.)
Hana:
maybe you can use the pick up line…. hehe I’m sure a lot of men will be caught off guard. It’s usually a man that asks the question
hehe
Friday at 4:18 pm
I’ve got soooooo tired of Koreans asking me that question:
여자친구 있어요? 없어요?
왜 없어요?
I hate that question. How can I tell in such case???
여자친구말고 남자친구러시아에서 있었는데 지금는 없잖아!!!
So I have to lie all the time. But people who barely know me keep asking.
Isn’t it my own business?!
It is so hard to be 일반 사람 here in Korea -_-;;
Friday at 4:20 pm
oh, I mean 이반 사람 - always confuse that gay slang ))))
Wednesday at 8:51 pm
Sergey,
You can just say “그냥 없어요” if you don’t want others prying into your business. That must be tiring though…
Friday at 1:08 am
Yeah
ㅎㅎ That’s probably a good way to end the topic there.
Friday at 1:09 am
The word “그냥” is so powerful.
Tuesday at 11:26 am
i really want a girlfriend to spend my time with her
so i only want girlfriend i dont have crush on anyone
Sunday at 1:56 pm
Sergey u r right! They allways keeping ask abt 남자 진구 있어요? i wanna learn korean but it’s a little difficult!
Tx for conversation.
Wednesday at 11:44 pm
Quick question, I came across with the word,
“화이트데이”. What’s the most common thing Koreans
do on the white day?
Thursday at 10:58 pm
안녕하세요!
In the expansion section, ‘I have an appointment with my younger sister’ is written as 여동생이랑 약속이 있어요. What does 이랑 mean? Can I write 내 여동생과 약속을 있어요?
감사합니다
Friday at 9:27 am
이랑 means ‘with’. I think you’ve already studied the word 과(gwa) and 같이(gatchi) which also means ‘with’. For causal and informal conversation, Korean people use the word 이랑 more often than 같이.
So you can say
- 내 여동생과 함꼐 약속이 있어요.
- 내 여동생이랑 약속이 있어요.
- 내 여동생과 같이 약속이 있어요.
All of them have the same meaning.
I hoep this helps.
Thank you!

Practising journaling in Korean…
내 취미는 책을 읽어. 내 친구가 말했어 나는 책을 많이 읽어. 맞아요. 나 도 한국어 책을 읽어 싶어! 언제? 몰라…
Sunday at 11:45 pm
I wonder, when should I use 나는, 내가 and 재가. Are they any different
???
Monday at 9:30 am
It’s great that you started writing journals in Korean. That will be very practical way to learn Korean more. : )
Let me help you by correcting just one mistake.
- 내 취미는 책을 읽는 것입니다. to mean ‘My hobby is reading a book.’
And.. 나는/ 내가 are informal, and 저는 /제가 are formal.
When you use the particle ‘는’, you can say the pronoun 나 or 저
However, when you use the particle ‘가’, you should use the different pronoun 내, or 제
You can get more information about ways to use the particles at below grammar banks : )

- About 이/가: http://www.koreanclass101.com/learningcenter/reference/grammar/362?
Thank you!

Still can’t mark lessons complete….
Tuesday at 2:22 am
Would be great if the writing test would accept answers in any of the forms of politeness rather than only in the way it was taught or used in the lesson.
